ID Studios Awarded USD Beyster Institute For Nursing Project

ID Studios has been selected by the University of San Diego to provide Interior Design services for the Betty and Bob Beyster Institute for Nursing Research, Advanced Practice and Simulation. The Design and Executive Architect is gkkworks in association with The S/L/A/M Collaborative.

The project is a three-story, 27,000 s.f. LEED gold building which will enable innovative clinical nursing research and the preparation of nurse scientists. It will also provide a premier Simulation and Standardized Patient Nursing Laboratory to prepare advanced practice for registered nurses.

The first floor will house the Simulation and Standardized Patient Nursing Laboratory. The second floor provides multiple classrooms and a faculty suite with expandable classrooms. The third floor will be devoted to research and doctoral student education including the Kathryn S. Krause Doctoral Research Library and Study.

Sally Brosz Hardin, dean of the nursing school said, “There is no other institute for nursing research of this kind in the United States. I am so grateful to Mrs. Beyster and the whole Beyster family. They understand the importance of nursing research and advanced practice for the future of healthcare for San Diego, for all of California and the country.”
