This year ID Studios took part in the IIDA San Diego Haute Couture Fashion Show which returned to the House of Blues San Diego on April 18. The venue was electric with energy as the design teams all brought their a-game and the models graced the runway bringing the fashion creations to life.
This year’s theme, Terra: A Fashion Exploration of Earth’s Beauty, challenged each team to draw inspiration from a randomly assigned ecosystem. With materials sourced from the fabric grab and our sponsors J&J Flooring and Arc-Com, our team was inspired by our ecosystem, The Savanna.
Our concept was King of the Savannah. This daring outfit exudes strength and regality, combining earthy tones with fierce accents to capture the essence of the wild. The subtle textures mimicking the grasslands combined with the neutral palette lay the foundation of the Savannah’s rugged terrain. Golden embellishments and metallic accents shimmer like the African sun, accentuating the outfit’s royal flair and bringing to life this ensemble’s affinity to the wild.
Besides fabric from the grab, we also used:
– Carpet Backing
– Luxury Vinyl Plank
– Carpet Yarn
So many people at ID Studios put in many hours of work on the costume. We wouldn’t have been able to make such a wonderful creation without everyone’s input and hard work.
This year’s judges, Catherine McCullough, Tyler Wentworth, Laura Cain, Heather Geraghty, Natalia Worden, and Eric Burger faced the impossible task of selecting award recipients. Six coveted awards were presented that night, recognizing outstanding creativity and collaboration. Congratulations to all the teams!
The show’s success wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and support of the design teams and sponsors. For more photos and details about the teams, sponsors, and judges, you can visit the official IIDA SoCal page.
We look forward to the next Haute Couture Fashion Show in 2026!
