Transforming a dormant art museum into a dynamic tribute to the Navy SEALs, ID Studios embraced the challenge as Architect for the new Navy SEAL Museum in downtown San Diego. The shape of the building presented unique technical and spatial puzzles, and some unusual challenges specific to the museum. For example, we collaborated with BWE to design a way to mount a full-size submersible on the ceiling and worked with the exhibit designers G&A to integrate immersive technology and accessibility within the oddly shaped shell. The entire team created a seamless, inclusive experience that honors the strength and legacy of the SEAL brotherhood. Every detail, from life-safety systems to universal design, was thoughtfully woven into the architecture to support bold storytelling and connection.
