Marsh & Mclennan Branding

Embracing Local Diversity

When Marsh & McLennan merged with Barney and Barney, an insurance agency founded in San Diego in 1909, they wanted their subsequent office renovation to reflect their local roots. ID Studios came up with a design centered on San Diego County, the most biologically diverse county in the United States. In a place where temperatures, landscapes, and wildlife can all vary greatly in a matter of only a few miles, we wanted a diverse layering of materials, textures, and environments to embody the five habitats within San Diego which are Farmlands, Wetlands, Beaches, Mountains and Desert. The resulting design not only reflects this diversity, but embraced local photographer, Aaron Chang, who lent his own vision of what makes up San Diego.
